People of Kishtwar didn’t flee due to fear of gun, says Anurag Thakur

Kishtwar, Apr 16 : Praising the courage of people of Kishtwar, union minister and star campaigner of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Anurag Thakur today has said that people of Kishtwar didn’t leave their land even in toughest times when terrorists were killing their loved ones.

According to the news agency, Thakur said that the nation will not forget the sacrifices of people of Kishtwar when the National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Congress left the people on the mercy of terrorists.

Addressing an election rally in Chowgan ground in Kishtwar city today, Anurag Thakur lambasted Congress, NC and PDP for doing injustice to the people of Kishtwar who have suffered due to terrorism.

“Why Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, Sonia Gandi, Rahul Ganhi, Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Mufti Sayeed And Mehbooba did injustice to the people of Kishtwar? Why have these political families done injustice to the families of poor people of Kishtwar? It is for their political benefit, they left you at the mercy of terrorists who killed your loved ones,” Thakur said.

“The Nation will not forget the sacrifice of Parihar brothers, Chankerkant and others who laid their lives for the Nation. The sacrifice of the people of Kishtwar is no less than the sacrifices of security forces,” he claimed.

Maintaining that before the abrogation of Article 370, Tiranga was burnt and disrespected in Kashmir valley, Thakur said, “I remember in 2011 when I travelled from Kolkata to Kashmir to unfurl Tiranga in Kashmir but Omar Abdullah led government arrested me and put me behind bars. But now it (Tiranga) is getting the respect which it deserves.”

“If Pulwama happened, we hit them inside their territory. We gave China a befitting reply in Doklam. Not like Nehru and Indira who gave Aksai Chin to China, an island to Sri lanka and PoK to Pakistan. But we are not compromising and we keep the nation above all,” he added.

Seeking votes in favour of BJP candidate Dr. Jitendra Singh, he asked people to make a choice between corrupt Congress party and an honest tea seller and son of a poor mother like Narendra Modi who gave everything to the nation.

The union minister talked about different guarantees of PM Modi which were fulfilled in the last 10 years and said that in the next five years India will be the world’s third biggest economy which will be beneficial for the country on the whole.
