KATHUA, JUNE 19: District Administration Kathua today organised PM SVANidhi Mahotsav to celebrate achievements under the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme and acknowledge the contribution of street vendors to the local economy.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, ADDC highlighted the role of PM SVANidhi in empowering street vendors through collateral-free working capital loans and financial independence. He stated that the scheme promotes digital transactions, timely repayment practices and integration of street vendors into the formal banking system and urged eligible vendors to avail its benefits.
Beneficiaries were felicitated for their successful utilisation of loan assistance and repayment records. Vendors shared their experiences, highlighting how the scheme helped them expand their businesses, improve income and achieve greater financial stability.
The event was attended by officials from Municipal Council Kathua, Municipal Committees Hiranagar, Lakhanpur, Parole, Billawar and Basohli, representatives of financial institutions, Self-Help Groups and street vendors from across the district.
