POONCH, NOVEMBER 18: The 5th anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) was observed today at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Poonch with people across social spectrum reiterating the resolve to continue the fight against the Drug menace.

The event brought together government functionaries to reaffirm their dedication to creating a drug free society. The colleges, schools and other institutions also observed the day, organizing awareness activities and reinforcing the message of a drug free future.

Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma stressed the need for continuous and coordinated efforts to curb substance abuse. He emphasized that protecting the youth and strengthening awareness at the grassroots level remains a top priority. The DC urged officers to collaborate closely with educational institutions, panchayats and community groups to build a vigilant and informed society capable of resisting the threat of drugs.

A district level pledge ceremony was held during the program, where officers renewed their commitment to continue the mission of NMBA. The oath was administered by District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Khalil A. Banday.

The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to expanding outreach programs, intensifying awareness campaigns and strengthening preventive measures as part of the nationwide initiative.
