JAMMU, APRIL 16: A mega awareness event was organized today by Office of the Child Development Project Officer, Poshan Project Satwari as part of the Poshan Pakhwada.
Mission Director Mission Poshan, J&K was the chief guest on the occasion and District Programme Officer, Poshan Jammu was the guest of honour.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Supervisors, Health & Nutrition Mobilizer, Sr. Asstt, MTS, Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers and beneficiaries including Pregnant Women & Lactating mothers.
The speakers highlighted the key themes of Poshan Pakhwada 2026 including Mother and Child Nutrition, Early Stimulation for Brain Development (0-3 years), Play Based Education in Early Years (3-6 years), Role of Parents and Community in Minimizing Screen Time, Garnering Community Support for Stronger Anganwadis.
The event aimed at imparting awareness about the proper nutrition, health, hygiene and education for overall welfare and well-being of the community. The dignitaries addressed the participants to avail maximum benefits of various schemes under Mission Poshan and to adopt healthy lifestyle and sustainable dietary practices.
School kits were distributed among Anganwadi children who participated in the talent show.
Baby care kits were provided to lactating mothers and Vidyarambh Certificates were awarded to children transitioning from Anganwadi centres to formal schooling. Additionally, nutrition kits were distributed among needy beneficiaries to support their nutritional requirements.
Cultural activities featuring theme-based PowerPoint presentations, group songs and skits, were presented by the field functionaries of Poshan Project Satwari. Additionally, an exhibition of local and regional nutritious recipes along with ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) materials was organized to reinforce the campaign themes.
The Mission Director the District Programme Officer highlighted the importance of proper nutrition, growth monitoring, anemia prevention, environmental sustainability and health and nutrition education.
The event concluded with a formal Vote of thanks presented by Child Development Project Officer, Poshan Project Satwari.
