SRINAGAR, AUGUST 09: The Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, has condoled the passing away of eminent electronics engineer Dr. MJ Zarabi. Following is the text of the Lieutenant Governor’s condolence message:
“I am deeply grieved to learn of the passing away of Dr. MJ Zarabi, one of India’s most eminent electronics engineers, who will long be remembered for his pioneering research in microelectronics.
Dr. MJ Zarabi was among that crop of engineers who helped lay the foundation of our country’s integrated chip manufacturing effort. As SCL’s Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. Zarabi was responsible in building a modern VLSI fabrication facility in 1997. I met him last month to discuss setting up of a Semi-Conductor Design Centre and Lab Scale Fabrication facility for training purpose at the North Campus of University of Kashmir in Baramulla.
Dr. Zarabi will be missed deeply by his friends, and researchers as a great engineer and a very warm human being. I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family and pray for peace of the departed soul. Om Shanti!
