BARAMULLA, MARCH 23: Tehsil Social Welfare Office Dangiwacha organized a programme for senior citizens on Productive Ageing under the National Action Plan for Senior Citizens (NAPSrC) at Community Hall Dangiwacha.
The programme aimed to promote active and healthy ageing by encouraging senior citizens to engage in creative, productive, and socially meaningful activities.
During the event, senior citizen artisans showcased a wide range of traditional skills including handicrafts, basket weaving, cloth making, firepot making, sweater knitting, clay pot making, carpet weaving, and other crafts.
A key highlight of the programme was the enthusiastic participation of the senior citizens, who shared their knowledge and expertise with fellow participants. They demonstrated how these traditional skills can be effectively utilized to lead a more productive, self-reliant, and fulfilling life.
The artisans were also felicitated by the Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Dangiwacha in recognition of their valuable contributions towards preserving traditional craftsmanship.
The programme served as an important platform for fostering social interaction, strengthening community bonds, and promoting the overall well-being of senior citizens.
The Department reiterated its commitment to continue organizing such initiatives for the empowerment and welfare of the elderly.
