RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 22: The District Administration Ramban marked the sixth day of the Sewa Parv campaign with a series of activities across the district amid overwhelming public participation.
The Rural Development Department and local municipalities carried out door-to-door campaigns on home composting and waste segregation, spreading practical knowledge on environment-friendly practices at the household level. A special Block-Level Market Cleanliness Drive was organized in Gool, Gundi Dharam and Khari also featuring Nukkad Nataks to raise awareness on hygiene and behavior change at the community level.
Cleanliness activities were also conducted at SEC Mahoo and SEC Kanthi to educate locals about Sheep Husbandry Department schemes and their benefits. Meanwhile, 20 new enterprises were established under ISDS schemes at Gool to promote entrepreneurship and self-reliance among youth.
The Health Department organized a Specialized Health Camp at NTPHC Kaskoot and two additional camps at AAM SC Chachal and AAM SC Chaknarwah under the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan.’
A Plantation Drive was held at Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban, which was inaugurated by Principal Prof. Satish Kumar.
Similarly, a Cleanliness and Plantation Drive was organized at Government Middle School Gujarnad Lamber, jointly by Social Forestry Range Banihal, Soil & Water Conservation Department and the school. The students, staff and officials removed plastic waste from the premises and planted saplings.
The Animal Husbandry Department held an awareness programme at Halla, informing the locals cattle breeders about the departmental schemes and welfare initiatives aimed at improving livestock health and productivity.
The Agriculture Department organized an awareness drive at Zone Batote, Village Sanasar, acquainting the local farmers with PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), PM Fasal Bima Yojana, organic/natural farming, urban farming and kitchen gardening to encourage sustainable agriculture practices.
To commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, students of GDC Banihal organized an on-the-spot painting competition on the themes of the historic Dandi March and Quit India Movement, showcasing their artistic talent and patriotic spirit.
