REASI, SEPTEMBER 22: The 6th day of Sewa Parv 2025 was observed across Reasi district with a series of impactful activities organised under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik and focusing on community welfare, awareness and civic responsibility.
The Child Helpline, under the aegis of Social welfare Department, organised an awareness programme at Government Girls Middle School, Seela, where students were sensitized about Child Rights, the Child Helpline 1098 and the issue of Child Labour. A child identified as irregular in attendance and engaged in labour was counselled individually, while a group session was conducted for all students to promote education and regular attendance.
As part of Poshan Abhiyan, SANKALP-Hub for Empowerment of Women, in collaboration with One Stop Centre Reasi, held a Nutrition and Awareness Session at AWC Mari Gowas, educating women, adolescent girls and Anganwadi workers on balanced nutrition, healthy food practices and preventive healthcare.
The Municipal Council Reasi carried out a plantation drive at Bhimgarh Fort, a sanitation drive at Bus Stand Reasi and organized a PM Awas Mela–Shehri in collaboration with the Revenue Department and banks, where beneficiaries were sensitized about PMAY 2.0 and keys were distributed to eligible households. Awareness on PM SVANidhi and enforcement of the ban on Single Use Plastics were also undertaken.
Meanwhile, the Employment Department established Yuva Help Desks at Reasi, Dharmari, Mahore and Katra, where around 40 grievances of Mission YUVA applicants were redressed on the spot.
The Labour Department conducted an awareness-cum-registration camp at Ransoo with nearly 100 participants, where workers were informed about Labour Laws and JKBOCWWB welfare schemes. On-spot registrations, renewals and issuance of 83 Employment Certificates were facilitated with CSC support.
Simultaneously, the Rural Development Department carried out special market cleanliness drives across blocks to promote hygiene and sanitation.
The day-long activities, organized by various departments, reflected a collective commitment towards public welfare, awareness, and service, making the 6th day of Sewa Parv a significant step in strengthening community engagement in Reasi district.
