Sajid Raina
Tulail: Several villages in Tulail valley of Gurez Tehsil in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district remained cutoff from rest of the valley for a week due to accumulation of snow on the road, locals said on Wednesday.
The locals said that due to recent heavy snowfall, several villages of Tulail valley which are located at a distance of about 45 km from Dawar are still cut off from rest of the valley due to accumulation of snow.
They said that the dozens interior routes are clogged with snow as the Tulail tehsil doesn’t have any snow clearance machine there.
“As long as the administration clears the road from Dawar to Tulail, only after that the internal roads of Tulail will be cleared, ” they said, adding that the administration had to have a snow clearance machine available here as well.
DC Bandipora Dr, Owais Ahmad on its official tweeter handle informed that snow clearance on Gurez-Tulail Road would be completed in next few days, “subject to fair weather conditions.”
Meanwhile, an official stationed at Gurez has advised the people of Tulail to stay indoors and not go through avalanche-prone areas.
On Tuesday, the administration had airlifted two patients from snowbound Gurez valley to Bandipora for immediate medical relief.
