Srinagar, Aug 26 : Streets in Srinagar came alive on Monday when children dressed as Lord Krishna took centre stage in Janmashtami celebrations on Monday.

As per the news agency, the celebrations (Shobha Yatra) began today with a rally from Ganpatyar Srinagar to the bustling Lal Chowk.

The birthday of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami, was observed with religious fervor in Srinagar and other parts of the Valley. The fervor was not only visible in the city but also in places like Nunner area of Ganderbal, and other parts of the valley where hundreds of devotees gathered to observe the occasion with prayers, songs, and cultural performances.

Participants in the rally, speaking to KNO, about the celebrations in Srinagar, said it is heartening to see kids dressed as Lord Krishna. “Our community gathers in this festival spirit of devotion and celebration,” said one of the participants.

Another participant, Priya said Janmashtami is a special time for her family.

Dressing up the children and participating in the events makes the festival even more memorable.

Meanwhile, the beautifully dressed, spiritual children with peacock feathers and a flute in each hand, resembling little Lord Krishnas, were greeted with joy and festivity shared by the entire city
