BUDGAM, MARCH 25: Social Forestry Department, Budgam today organized a large-scale plantation drive across the district, distributing free plants of various varieties among the general public.
The main function in this regard was held at Ichgam, Budgam, where a huge gathering of locals, beneficiaries, and officials assembled to take part in the programme.
A wide range of plant saplings was distributed free of cost with the aim of promoting greenery and environmental conservation in the district.
While interacting with the general public and beneficiaries, officials of the Social Forestry Department emphasized the importance of planting more trees to ensure a greener and healthier environment. They urged people to actively participate in afforestation efforts and take responsibility for nurturing the distributed plants.
The department further appealed to the public to come forward and provide available Khachrie land for plantation purposes. It was informed that the Social Forestry Department is willing to undertake plantation activities free of cost on such land, thereby contributing to increasing green cover in the district.
