SAMBA, AUGUST 25: District Social Welfare Department Samba today organized a special event in synchronization with the UT-level motorized tricycles (scooties) distribution programme held at SKICC, Srinagar.
The event was graced by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, as the Chief Guest, while MLAs from different districts joined the programme virtually from their respective constituencies.
In Samba district, the occasion was marked by the esteemed presence of MLA Samba Surjeet Singh Slathia; MLA Vijaypur, Chander Prakash Ganga; and MLA Ramgarh, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal.
A total of 27 beneficiaries from the district were provided with motorized tricycles, a significant step towards empowering persons with disabilities by enhancing their mobility, self-reliance, and social inclusion.
The event in Samba was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan who appreciated the initiative and underlined the government’s commitment to the welfare and empowerment of specially-abled persons.
