Surprise inspections reveal lapses in Pvt drug de-addiction centres in Jammu
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegram

JAMMU, JUNE 12: Acting on the direction of District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Additional Magistrates Ansuya Jamwal and Shishir Gupta conducted surprise inspections of Private drug de-addiction centres in the district today. The inspections uncovered significant discrepancies in record-keeping and operational protocols across multiple private facilities.

The inspections also revealed operational shortcomings and it was noted that several centres lacked adequate recreational facilities for the inmates, and counselling services fell short of expected standards. The inspections were conducted in the presence of a police party, Tehsildar and health professionals, besides others.

In response to these findings, case files, records and documents have been seized from the erring cetres for further inquiry. The district administration is going to issue notices to these centres, seeking explanations for the observed deficiencies.

The district administration, under the leadership of District Magistrate Vaishya, has taken a stringent stance against the drug menace. The administration remains committed to enhancing rehabilitation efforts for individuals grappling with drug addiction.
