PULWAMA, APRIL 04: Under the ongoing TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – 100-Day Campaign, a series of health awareness and screening Shivirs were successfully organised across various locations of District Pulwama by the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) Pulwama to strengthen tuberculosis screening and awareness.
The Shivirs were conducted at Babhara, Drabgam, Dogripora, Panzgam, Niloora, Kuchmullah, Naner, Main Pulwama, Tral and Pampore among others with the objective of early detection, awareness, and prevention of Tuberculosis (TB) and other health conditions.
During these Shivirs, a significant number of people participated and were screened for TB-related symptoms. On-the-spot counselling, sputum sample collection, and referrals for further diagnostic tests, including chest X-rays, were facilitated. The medical teams also sensitised the public about the importance of early diagnosis, adherence to treatment, and the availability of treatment services under the NTEP.
The health department has urged the general public to actively participate in such health initiatives and avail the services being provided.
