JAMMU, MAY 16: SSP Traffic (Rural) Jammu Farooq Qaiser has appealed to the people not to panic and assured that their pending challans shall be cleared soon.
The Traffic authorities, while referring to public complaining about the non-clearance of court challans on social media by concerned Traffic Police Office(s), clarified that ‘The “NextGen eChallan” Application was launched in UT of J&K by NIC pursuant to Central Motor Vehicles (3rd Amendment) Rules, 2026 on April 11, 2026.
After the launch, multiple issues are being faced by the Enforcement Officers as well as E-Challaning Sections of different Units in its day to day usage. The major issues being faced are Failure to login, Non fetching or partial fetching of data, Frequent forced pull back and Unstable service. The issue is being looked after by NIC. Things are improving with each passing day and during the past 5 days, over 500 court challans have been cleared by this Unit. It is worthwhile to mention here that J&K is the among First States/UTs where the “NextGen eChallan” Application has been launched”.
