JAMMU, MAY 21: The Department of Horticulture Jammu on Thursday felicitated the batch of trainees, who completed one year Mali training course here at Mega Fruit Plant Nursery Chakroi.
Director Horticulture Jammu Gul Syed was the chief guest. He gave away certificates to the trainees who successfully completed the one year orientation programme.
During the training, the trainees drawn from different districts of Jammu were imparted theoretical and technical knowledge about the horticulture practices. The trainees were also educated about protocol of raising nurseries in open and protected structures, the methods of propagation of fruit plants, training/pruning of plants, basin preparation and other nursery operations.
The Director Horticulture Jammu briefed the trainees in detail about Central and J&K sponsored schemes of the department such as Holistic Agriculture Development Programme aimed at to double the farmers’ income. He also advised the trainees to implement the knowledge gained during the training period in their respective horticulture zones.
The Director Horticulture Jammu impressed upon trainees to work for the welfare of farmers and to promote horticulture practices in their respective Districts.
Divisional Training Officer Virender Kumar; Incharge MFPN Chakroi Parminder Singh; Subject Matter Specialist Sunil Mahnori; DHO Abhinav Gupta and other staff members were also present on the occasion.
