Training Programme under NMBA held at Shopian

SHOPIAN, MARCH 24: 5th batch of training programme under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) was today conducted at Mini-Secretariat and SBGM, Paramedical College, Shopian.

Chief Medical Officer Shopian, Dr. Arshid Hussain Tak presided over the training programme at SBGM, Paramedical College, Shopian while District Health Officer, Shopian, Dr. Shafqat Hussain at Mini-Secretariat Shopian.

The programme was organized by the District Surveillance Unit, Shopian with the aim of strengthening grassroots-level awareness and capacity building against substance abuse.

To enhance outreach and ensure maximum participation, two batches of the training programme were conducted simultaneously.

Special sessions were conducted on the harmful effects of drug abuse, promoting early identification and strengthening community participation through inter-sectoral coordination.

The sessions also focused on counselling techniques and the role of educational institutions in effective implementation of NMBA at village and block levels.

During the session, the Chief Medical officer stated that training programmes play a vital role in empowering frontline workers to actively contribute towards building a drug-free society.

District Health Officer while speaking on the occasion stressed on frontline workers to strengthen the awareness part of the campaign of NMBA at the grassroots.

A total of around 120 participants attended the training, including teachers, lecturers, health professionals and other frontline workers representing the grassroots workforce.
