During his visit to Kulgam, Vishesh Mahajan held an interaction with the Taxi Operators’ Union to understand their concerns and operational challenges. He emphasized the importance of maintaining fair practices and ensuring high standards of service to the public, especially in view of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The Transport Commissioner reviewed the preparedness for the Yatra and directed the officials to ensure availability of adequate service providers for the pilgrims. He also instructed the enforcement staff to keep a strict check on overcharging and ensure that rates remain within the prescribed limits.

Later, Vishesh Mahajan met with the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Ilyaas, to discuss the support required for the ARTO office and important matters related to Road Safety.

The meeting was also attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and the concerned ARTO.

In a strong message for road safety, the Transport Commissioner directed for a special enforcement drive targeting the traffic violators, particularly focusing on two-wheeler riders not wearing helmets and rash driving.

He emphasized that strict action will be taken against the violators in order to safeguard the lives and ensure discipline on roads.
