Anantnag, Oct 26: District Police Anantnag continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of Drugs from the society, arrested two more drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Police party from Police station Mattan laid down a naka at Gopalpora Kalan- Khurd road and intercepted two persons namely Mohd Rafiq Sheikh S/O Gh Mohd Sheikh R/O Gopalpora Kalan and Hilal Ahmad Sheikh S/O Abdul Rashid Sheikh R/O Sheikh Mohalla Gopalpora, during their search police party recovered about 7.500 Kgs and 10 kgs of Charas powder respectively from their possession. Both persons were arrested and contraband seized.
In this regard a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Mattan and investigation set into motion.
People of District Anantnag are requested to extend cooperation to the Police and come forward with any information regarding anti-social activity in their neighborhood.
