Two held for illegal extraction of minerals

Srinagar: Police in Budgam arrested two persons and seized s many vehicles for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that acting on specific information regarding illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Sehipora Magam, a police party established a checking point in the area. During checking, the police party intercepted two vehicles (Tippers) bearing registration numbers JKO3B-0560 & JK01T-4280 loaded with illegal extracted mineral and arrested two persons. They have been identified as Nadeem Ahmad Mir son of Ali Mohammad Mir resident of Sehipora and Aijaz Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Aziz Dar resident of Chewa.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 48/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation have been initiated, the spokesman added.
