JAMMU, OCTOBER 30: Government MAM College Jammu in Collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Science, Technology and Innovation Council, Department of Science and Technology, UT J&K today observed the Vigilance Awareness Day with the objective to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in public life.
The event was organized under the guidance of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), Government of India.
The Chief Guest of the program was Registrar Cluster University Jammu Dr Ankur Mahajan and the special guest of the event was Assistant Director JKSTIC Shruti Khanna.
The celebration commenced with the welcome address by Prof. Varsha Kapoor. The Principal of the College Prof Archana Kaul administered the Integrity Pledge, with the participants reaffirming the collective resolve to uphold moral values and combat corruption in all spheres of life.
As part of the observance, two activities were organized including Essay Writing & Slogan writing competition highlighting the significance of vigilance and responsible citizenship.
The events reflected the theme “Our Duty, Our Dignity, Vigilance for Prosperity,” emphasizing that true prosperity can only be achieved through honesty, discipline, and a sense of moral duty.
Vidhi Sharma (Government College of Education), Anirudh Sharma (Government MAM College Jammu) and Ridham (Government SPMR College of Commerce) were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd in essay writing competition respectively, while Soniakshi Sharma (SPMR College Jammu), Marusha Rajput (SPMR College Jammu) and Kajal Devi (Government College of Education) were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Slogan Writing competition, respectively. The Jury consisted of Prof. Seema Sudan, Dr. Prem Singh and Prof. Shivali Gupta.
In her address, the Chief Guest underlined the importance of integrity in professional and personal life. She stated that vigilance is not merely an administrative requirement but a moral duty that strengthens the foundation of a just and prosperous society. The special guest of the event Shruti Khanna highlighted the major pros and cons of vigilance.
The judges of the events were Dr. Seema Sudan and Dr. Prem Singh. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Jeevan Dhar, Convenor of the event, appreciating the active participation of students and staff in promoting the values of transparency and ethical conduct. Other faculty members present were Prof. Ruth K. Masehi, Prof. Menaka Rajput, Dr. Harbhajan Singh, Prof. Dheeraj Kumar, Prof. Vibhutti, Prof. Swati and Dr. Deewika Sharma.
