BANDIPORA, JULY 22: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Wednesday appealed to the public to stay away from water bodies in view of the prevailing weather conditions and rising water levels.
Addressing the media during her field visit to Sonerwani, Bonar Nallah and other adjoining areas, the Deputy Commissioner advised residents not to venture near water bodies and to strictly adhere to all safety advisories issued by the district administration and other concerned agencies.
She also called upon parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and ensure they do not go near water bodies, stressing that extra vigilance is essential during the prevailing weather conditions.
Emphasising that no work or activity is worth risking one’s life, she said, “If life is safe, everything else can be achieved,” while asking people to prioritise their safety above all else.
She appealed to the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any emergency to the District Control Room on 7006526985 or 7006328689 for prompt assistance.
The Deputy Commissioner further called for public cooperation with the administration, asking residents to avoid movement near water bodies and remain alert until the weather situation improves.
