DODA, JANUARY 8: The Weekly Block Diwas program was successfully conducted across District Doda, providing a platform to citizens to voice their concerns and seek solutions.

One of the key meetings, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar, took place at Sehri Panchayat Buttla Block. Citizens raised critical issues, seeking augmentation of healthcare, wildlife safety, meeting infrastructure needs, and benefits under social welfare schemes.

The people demanded posting of an adequate number of doctors and staff at the New Type Primary Health Center (PHC) and immediate provision of an ambulance.

The demanded release of funds sanctioned for the PHC to improve facilities. Concerns were also raised about the presence of a wild bear in the Athkar area, posing safety risks. The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Bhaderwah and the Wildlife Department were urged to address the matter promptly. Additionally, the shortage of JPDCL field staff and delay in disbursement of marriage assistance by SW Department were flagged as significant issues.

Infrastructure and safety concerns also dominated the discussion, with requests for the construction of protection walls to safeguard 300 kanal of paddy land near the Power House in Rawa and other vulnerable areas. Residents also raised the threat of stray dog menace in Sartingal market as a pressing public safety issue requiring immediate intervention.

The ADC assured participants that all grievances would be referred to the concerned departments for swift action. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to enhancing public services, expediting developmental projects, and ensuring timely follow-ups. This weekly Block Diwas initiative continues to strengthen the connection between the administration and the public, fostering accountability and participatory governance for the development of District Doda.
