SAMBA, JUNE 26: To address the issues and grievances of the residents at their doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma today chaired a Block Diwas Camp at Community Hall, Vijaypur. The event aimed to listen and resolve the concerns of the community, promoting the overall welfare and development of the area.

The program saw participation from numerous stakeholders, including DDC members, officers from all line departments, and prominent citizens of the Vijaypur subdivision.

During the Grievance Redressal Camp, numerous public delegations and individuals projected developmental issues, seeking timely resolutions.

Key demands included the establishment of a Camp office of JDA, parking facilities, road renovation in Indira Colony, railway crossing work, cremation ground near AIIMS, restoration of dysfunctional tubewells in Panchayat Gunwal, acceleration of work on the National Highway, overcharging at CSC Centres, and land demarcation in Gurha Slathia.

The DC assured the public that the District Administration would actively support the development of the area. He promised that all issues and demands would be forwarded to the concerned authorities for timely redressal. He directed the Executive Engineer to replace damaged power transformers within 24 hours, while asking the concerned authorities to address irrigation issues, including regular cleaning of canals and removal of encroachments.

Several immediate concerns were resolved on the spot, with the DC emphasizing the administration’s commitment to streamlining public services delivery. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to identify and approve additional developmental projects.

In observance of the International Day of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a pledge was taken by all attendees to combat these issues.

Simultaneously, weekly Block Diwas camps were organized at all subdivision levels within the Samba district, where respective sub-divisional heads presided over the functions, listening to and addressing the grievances of the people.
