DODA, SEPTEMBER 21: A workshop on the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan (VGPP) under VB-G RAM G, themed “From Planning to Action,” was today organised here in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex to strengthen participatory, inclusive and outcome-oriented planning at the grassroots level.
Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal was the Chief Guest. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anil Kumar Thakur; Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Din Mohammad Afaqi, BDOs, VLWs and other concerned officials attended the workshop.
The workshop provided detailed orientation on the VGPP planning cycle, covering identification of requirements, assessment of existing status, gap assessment, preparation of annual action plans, execution and monitoring and achieving saturation and measurable impact.
The participants were also apprised of key planning areas including natural resource management, rural infrastructure and connectivity, social development and human capital, livelihood promotion, environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for comprehensive and realistic Panchayat-level planning based on the actual requirements of local communities. “Development plans should reflect ground realities, address identified gaps and ensure optimal utilisation and convergence of available resources,” he emphasised.
The DC called upon the field functionaries to ensure active participation of local communities in the planning process. He underscored the importance of prioritising works that have a direct and visible impact on the lives of rural people, while ensuring transparency, accountability and timely implementation.
The ADC highlighted the importance of converting Panchayat plans into concrete and time-bound actions. He stressed coordinated efforts by BDOs, VLWs and other field-level functionaries for identifying local needs, assessing existing infrastructure, conducting gap analysis and preparing realistic annual action plans.
