DODA, OCTOBER 10: World Mental Health Day 2026 was observed today across all medical blocks of District Doda, including the district headquarter under this year’s theme, “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”
At the district headquarter, an awareness programme was organised in the Conference Hall of the CMO) Office witnessing attendance of officers and officials of the Health Department, staff of ANMT School and nursing students.
. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vinod Sharma chaired the awareness event in presence of Deputy CMO Dr. Sat Lal Manhas
The CMO delivered an awareness lecture highlighting the importance of mental health, early identification of mental health concerns and the need to eliminate the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health conditions. He emphasised the importance of providing compassionate support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and encouraging them to seek professional help whenever required.
Highlighting the significance of this year’s theme, he said it underscores the significance of listening to the experiences of people living with mental health conditions and ensuring that their voices contribute to improving awareness, understanding and mental healthcare services.
Similar awareness programmes were organised in health institutions across medical blocks of Assar, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Ghat and Thathri. The healthcare staff sensitised the public to the importance of sound mental health, psychological well-being and encouraged people to seek timely assistance.
