Srinagar, Apr 01 : Office of the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Hawal is turning into a favoritism hub with concerned ZEO who recently attached superannuation not implementing the orders of the directorate, undermining the laid down rules and violating government directives.
As per the reports coming to the fore, the ZEO Office at Hawal has sidelined the recently issued order of rationalization issued by Chief Education Officer Srinagar in view of the growing demand of rationalization of teachers in district Srinagar.
The Order titled ‘Rationalization of Academic Teaching Staff across the UT of J&K’ issued Vide Order Number CEO/Sgr/Estt/1880-96, dated:09-03-2024 is yet to be implemented to the fullest with several teachers posted at their earlier postings not asked to join the new places.
Sources informed the news agency that there were several teachers within the zone who were attached to different schools of the zone in the past. However, the latest order issued by CEO Srinagar and even vetted by Director of School Education Kashmir nullified the previous postings or verbal attachments of teachers. “While the latest order had to be implemented in letter and spirit, violations were found and several teachers have been asked not to join their new places of posting. All this is being done insidiously and the palms of a few clerks are being greased by those teachers so that they are not moved away from their choosiest places,” says a senior official at the Director School Education office.
He added that LG Office may be informed about such gross irregularities within this particular zone and it is highly likely that action is taken against the matter in hand. “We are keeping a very close vigil on this zone and it is concerning that the rationalization order has not been implemented on the ground. We may ask the concerned office to rectify the mistakes sans delay,” the officer divulged.
