UDHAMPUR, JUNE 23: Zila Sainik Welfare Office Udhampur today celebrated the raising Day of Rajya Sainik Board. An impressive programme was organised in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex to commemorate the invaluable service and sacrifices of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their families.
Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Rajesh Gupta presided over the function.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, officers from various departments, Ex-Servicemen, veterans, Veer Naris and their family members were also present.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner extended his greetings and lauded the exemplary service, courage and sacrifices of the Ex-Servicemen fraternity and Veer Naris. He informed that the district administration is committed to the welfare, rehabilitation and handholding of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their families.
The Zila Sainik Welfare Officer highlighted various issues and demands concerning the Ex-Servicemen community.
The DC sensitised the participants about the Government welfare schemes, flagship programmes and directed the concerned departments to address the genuine grievances of Ex-Servicemen on priority.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged Ex-Servicemen to actively participate and spread awareness about the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan launched by the Lieutenant Governor. He called upon them to motivate the public, particularly the youth, to stay away from drug abuse and contribute towards building a healthier and drug-free society.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the District Administration Udhampur would extend every possible support for the welfare of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their families and ensure prompt redressal of their genuine concerns.
