BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 11: A bus carrying 56 students was today flagged-off from the DC office Baramulla by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Mohammad Zaid Malik, marking the start of a four-day trekking camp to Gulmarg.

The programme was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Baramulla aiming to promote physical fitness, adventure, and life skills among the youth.

The District Youth Services and Sports Officer was also present at the flag-off ceremony.
Pertinently, this initiative provides students with an opportunity to explore Gulmarg’s scenic landscapes while engaging in activities that foster teamwork, resilience and environmental awareness.

At the flag-off ceremony, DC emphasized the importance of such programs in building well-rounded and responsible young citizens, asserting that outdoor experiences help youth develop confidence, discipline, and a deeper connection with nature.

SSP Baramulla also addressed the students and encouraged them to make the most of this opportunity while adhering to safety protocols. He commended the Department of Youth Services & Sports for its dedication to youth development through meaningful programs like this.

The trekking camp, scheduled from November 11 to November 15, 2024, will be supervised by Escort Teachers, experienced guides and trainers, ensuring a safe and educational experience for all participants.
