SHOPIAN, JULY 30: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today conducted an inspection of Shopian-Aglar macadamisation work being executed by the PMGSY Shopian.
DC was accompanied by ADC, Dr.Zakir Hussain Faaz and SDM Zainapora, Bilal Ahmad and other officers where he inspected macadamisation works at Pahnoo, Trenz, Heff and Aglar to ascertain on the spot condition of the road and quality of work.
He directed for executing the works as per the timelines of the project and maintaining the quality. Drainage and sanitation works along the road was also emphasized upon and directions issued to improve visibility and safety along the road.
At Pahnoo, DC interacted with locals who apprised him of development of link road and the repair of drainage work. He sought the status of the road and assured for its early provision for development and macadamisation. He directed for preventing water logging in Pahno where he directed for drainage improvements.
The 22.5 Km Shopian-Aglar road is being developed through Renewal cost in patches under Incentive Fund of PMGSY with an allotted cost of 381.16 lakhs. The road shall be renewed during this season and shall remain under maintenance for 5 years, the concerned engineer apprised.
