KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 22: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today flagged off a group of 42 local farmers for a seven-day Tour-cum-Exposure Visit-cum-Farmer Training Programme to Palampur. The Tour has been sponsored under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) ATMA and organized by the Department of Agriculture.

The participating farmers, drawn from different blocks of the district, will undergo structured training at agricultural research stations, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and model farms in Palampur.

They will also interact with scientists and progressive cultivators to understand practical solutions for enhancing productivity and farm-based income.

Addressing the farmers, the DC highlighted the importance of ATMA initiatives in knowledge transfer, skill development and dissemination of innovative agricultural practices.

He extended best wishes to the farmers and expressed confidence that the tour would inspire them to adopt scientific practices that will strengthen the agricultural economy of the district.

Chief Agriculture Officer Kushal Chandel explained that the exposure tours promote technology-driven farming and diversify livelihood opportunities. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the sessions and to share their experiences with fellow farmers upon return, ensuring widespread benefit.
The event was attended by DAO Rajeshwar Singh Rana; SMS DL Vikas Koushal, besides other staff.
