SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 03: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today chaired a meeting of the Inter-Departmental Coordination Committee on Births and Deaths here at Mini-Secretariat to review the performance, recent reforms and overall registration process across the district.

District Statistics & Evaluation Officer (DSEO) presented a detailed briefing regarding current status, recent improvements and issues faced at field level.

The DC emphasized the critical importance of timely, accurate and error-free registration of every birth and death, as entries form the basis of multiple legal, social and developmental processes.

He highlighted that linkage of Aadhaar at the time of birth, ensuring proper documentation and maintaining complete, verified data are essential for smooth service delivery. He directed for daily updating and monitoring of birth & death entries, zero pendency and strict adherence to timelines.

The meeting was attended by ADDC,Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; CMO, Tehsildars, BDOs, CEO,MC and other concerned officers.
