KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 23: As part of the 5th Good Governance Week, the flagship outreach initiative “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” continued to strengthen grassroots governance across District Kishtwar on Day 5.

Wide ranging field activities were conducted across all 13 blocks of the district, reflecting the administration’s commitment to responsive, transparent and citizen-centric governance.

Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, the officers from line departments carried out extensive field visits at designated venues as per the schedule issued by the District Administration.

During these outreach programmes, the officers directly interacted with local residents, listened to their concerns and facilitated on-the-spot resolution of numerous public grievances, enhancing public confidence in administrative mechanisms.

The public was also made aware of major government flagship welfare schemes. Several services—particularly revenue-related services, were delivered to people, providing Labour Cards and Birth/Death Certificates to the applicants on the spot.

Meanwhile, a District-Level Workshop on Good Governance Week was organised by the District Administration, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner.

Former Additional District Development Commissioner (Ex-ADDC) Riyaz Ahmed Zargar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the best practices adopted by district officers and informed that 1,435 grievances have been redressed during the ongoing campaign so far. He emphasized that the initiative has significantly reduced the gap between the administration and citizens, fostering trust and collaboration.

Further, the officers from the line departments presented their Vision Documents aligned with “Amrit Kaal @2047” for the holistic development of District Kishtwar.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the core vision envisages making the district poverty-free, crime-free and disease-free.

Highlighting the vast potential of electricity generation in the Chenab region and describing Kishtwar as a power generation hub, he stressed the need for balanced development that safeguards nature and the environment. He also highlighted the CSR initiatives of these power projects—especially in skill development of youth, sustainable livelihood creation, healthcare support and infrastructure development—which have significantly contributed to overall development in Kishtwar. He cited the installation of an MRI machine at the District Hospital under CSR assistance, and hoped that the public would continue to benefit from such CSR initiatives.

The Deputy Commissioner also emphasized that agriculture and animal husbandry have great potential to transform Kishtwar, thanks to its unique climatic conditions, scope for organic farming and the development of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), particularly for promoting the famous Red Rice and other local products.
Former ADDC Riyaz Ahmed Zargar stated that the integration of online services and proactive grievances redressal reflects the progressive spirit of governance witnessed in Kishtwar during the Saptah.

Concluding the programme, the Deputy Commissioner said that clear and well-planned vision is essential for sustainable and inclusive development. He urged all stakeholders to work together to achieve the long-term development goals of District Kishtwar under Amrit Kaal @2047.

The event was attended by ADDC Vinod Kumar Behnal; CPO Akhil Thakur; ACP Neeraj Sharma; ACD Manoj Kumar; DSWO Tariq Parvaiz Qazi; EO Municipal Council Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal; ARTO Tasleem Wani; AD Handicrafts Pardeep Shan; DFO Mahesh Thakur; DFO Marwah Vishal Chaudhary; CAO, Kushal Chandel and other officers and staff.
