UDHAMPUR, MAY 09: The 2nd National Lok Adalat 2026 was held today in District Udhampur under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge/Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kalpana Revo and Secretary DLSA (Sub-Judge) Sumati Sharma.
The proceedings were inaugurated by the Principal District and Sessions Judge Kalpana Revo and Additional District and Sessions Judge Yash Paul Sharma by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
The Lok Adalat aimed to deliver speedy justice and reduce case pendency. Seven (07) benches, comprising judicial officers and panel lawyers, were constituted across the District. The benches worked diligently to resolve disputes amicably.
Notably, numerous cases were settled through effective mediation by the benches presided over by Principal District and Sessions Judge Kalpana Revo, Additional District and Sessions Judge Yash Paul Sharma and Secretary DLSA Sumati Sharma, underscoring the success of amicable dispute resolution.
The Lok Adalat settled 698 cases out of 1168, with a total settlement amount of ₹ 15774980/-.
Cases included Civil, Criminal, MACT, Revenue, Matrimonial, Family Disputes and Cheque Bounce cases, providing relief to litigants. Similar National Lok Adalats were also held at TLSC Ramnagar, Majalta and Chenani, extending the reach of justice across the district.
