KISHTWAR, MAY 12: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today chaired a district-level review meeting to assess the implementation and progress of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the awareness, enforcement, and community participation activities being carried out as per the notified schedule by the various departments under the campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner issued strict directions to the enforcement departments, including Revenue, Police, Excise & Taxation, Kishtwar and the Drug & Food Control Department, to take stringent action against violators involved in the illegal sale or misuse of narcotic and psychotropic substances.
Further, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned Tehsildars and Block Development Officers (BDOs) to hold regular meetings with the already constituted Mahila Nigrani Samitis in the 136 Panchayats of the district.
He emphasized the active involvement of these committees in monitoring and reporting activities related to drug abuse at the grassroots level.
The ACD was also directed to activate and strengthen the Youth Clubs functioning in all 136 Panchayats of the district.
