SRINAGAR, MAY 18: Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) organized a six-day workshop for the development of English textbooks for Classes II to V at the Academic Division Bemina, Srinagar.
The workshop was held in consonance with the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) 2022 and National Curriculum Framework for School Education(NCF-SE) 2023.
The workshop was conducted under the Chairman/Secretary JKBOSE, Gh. Hassan Sheikh. Spwaking on the occasion, Dr.Parveen Singh, Director Academics said that initiative is aimed at strengthening child-centric, inclusive, competency-based, and activity-oriented learning approaches in school education as envisioned under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The workshop witnessed active participation of experts, academics, subject specialists, and resource persons from various educational and academic institutions across Jammu& Kashmir.
Among the key experts associated with the workshop were Dr.Pankaj Sharma, Associate Professor; Dr Tanvir Ahmed, Sr. Asst Professor; Dr. Shalini Rana and others who contributed significantly to the academic deliberations and content development and contextualisationt process.
Representing Children Guidance and Wellbeing Centre (CGWC-IMHANS), Aqsa Altaf, Programme Coordinator, and Touseef Rashid, Training Coordinator, also participated in the workshop to provide expert inputs for incorporating mental health, psychosocial wellbeing, inclusivity, and disability-sensitive components within the English textbooks.
Special emphasis was laid on integrating inclusive and child-friendly content, experiential learning methods, language enrichment activities, and age.
