RAMBAN, JUNE 02: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Ghulam Ali Khatana today visited Banihal and convened a public outreach programme to listen and address the grievances and developmental concerns of people from various parts of the Sub-Divisions of Banihal and Ramsoo.
A large number of residents from across Panchayats, Municipal Committee Banihal and adjoining areas participated in the programme and projected a wide range of public issues and demands.
Addressing the gathering, the MP emphasized the need for proactive, transparent and people-centric governance, particularly in far-flung and underserved areas of district Ramban. He urged officers to view public service as an opportunity to uplift marginalized sections of society and ensure that government welfare schemes reach the poor and deserving without delay.
The MP assured the public of full support from the Union Government in resolving genuine grievances and accelerating developmental initiatives. He stressed that bottlenecks hampering key infrastructure projects must be identified and addressed on priority to ensure their timely completion.
Among the issues raised by the public were completion of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) projects, meeting shortage of staff in schools, upgradation of educational institutions, road connectivity, ambulance facilities for Khari and Mangit, posting of doctors in health centres, strengthening of healthcare services, development of tourism infrastructure in Neel, establishment of Degree Colleges for Khari and Pogal-Paristan, release of pending PMAY payments, repair of Panchayat Ghar Chamalwas and expediting Mission YUVA loan applications.
The MP directed the concerned officers to address public grievances in a time-bound manner and sought on-the-spot response from the departments concerned. He also instructed the Health Department to ensure rotational deployment of doctors in remote and underserved areas.
Highlighting the importance of youth empowerment, the MP stressed employment generation and directed officers to intensify awareness regarding self-employment and livelihood schemes. He also spoke about the growing menace of drug abuse and called for collective efforts to protect the youth from substance abuse.
Among those present were SDM Mohammad Naseeb Bajraan, ACD Sheraz Ahmad, CMO Dr. Kamal Zadoo, Executive Engineers of PMGSY, PWD, PDD and Jal Shakti Departments, SDPO, Tehsildar and other district officers and officials.
