UDHAMPUR, JUNE 30: Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, along with a team of officers today inspected lodgement centres, community sanitary complexes and langars along the National Highway from Jakhani to Kali Mata Temple, Tikri, within the jurisdiction of District Udhampur to review preparedness for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr Umesh Shan and other concerned officers accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection to assess arrangements for the convenience, safety and welfare of pilgrims undertaking the pilgrimage.
While inspecting the lodgement centres and community sanitary complexes, the DC stressed maintaining high standards of hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness and directed concerned departments to ensure regular upkeep of the facilities for clean, safe and comfortable lodging. He also reviewed the available infrastructure and amenities at the designated centres, assessing drinking water supply, sanitation facilities, power, lodging arrangements and bedding capacity.
The DC directed all concerned officers to ensure foolproof arrangements for every essential amenity well before the yatra begins.
