KISHTWAR, JULY 10: In a major step toward enhancing rural healthcare accessibility and advancing the goal of a Tuberculosis-free India, a mega health camp and Nikshay Shivir was organized at Village Karthie, Sub-Division Paddar.
The comprehensive medical camp was held under the direction of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma and under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Sanjay Kumar Bhat. The initiative was executed in close coordination with Hans Foundation Hospitals, a prominent non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to healthcare mobilization.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Paddar, Dr. Krishan Singh Katoch was present at the venue to lead the operations and ensure seamless execution. Under his direct monitoring, the collaborative healthcare team provided multi-specialty evaluations, diagnostic tests and immediate pharmaceutical relief to a large turnout of locals.
The camp uniquely integrated the objectives of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan alongside broader community health services.
Utilizing advanced mobile diagnostic equipment, the team performed digital chest X-rays for 130 patients. Individuals exhibiting presumptive TB symptoms were identified on the spot and routed into the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) framework for further testing and follow-up care.
Dedicated eye checkups were conducted to identify patients suffering from cataracts. Individuals requiring surgical intervention were registered for cataract surgery to be done by the Hans Foundation.
Beneficiaries received comprehensive physical checkups, primary health consultations and essential medicines completely free of charge.
Speaking on the occasion, the medical authorities expressed deep appreciation for the vital support provided by the Hans Foundation. They reiterated that such public-private partnerships are instrumental in delivering high-impact diagnostic care to the farthest corners of the Kishtwar district, ensuring early detection and timely treatment for all.
