SAMBA, OCTOBER 05: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh organised a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat: Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life” under the banner of the 100 Days NCORD Campaign. The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Principal Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol.
Addressing the students at the beginning of the Programme, the Principal emphasised the serious physical, psychological, academic and social consequences of the substance abuse. She encouraged students to adopt healthy lifestyles, remain aware of the risks associated with drug abuse and actively contribute to creating a responsible and drug-free society. She also highlighted the important role of youth in spreading awareness and supporting the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
The competition was organised by the NCORD Committee of the College and convened by Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, with the active support of Dr. Sneh Devi, Dr. Uma Prashar, Dr. Susheel Kumar and Darpan Malhotra. The activity formed part of the college’s ongoing awareness initiatives under the 100 Days NCORD Campaign.
Students participated enthusiastically and expressed their views on substance abuse through creative and meaningful posters. The entries highlighted the adverse effects of the drugs on physical and mental health, education, family and society, while conveying strong messages encouraging young people to make healthy and responsible choices.
The entries were judged by Prof. Sandeep Kumari and Prof. Brahm Dutt, who appreciated the creativity, relevance and impactful messages presented by the participants.
Prashant Kumar, Semester V secured the first position, followed by Kashish Mandla, Semester I, in the second position and Tanvi Devi Semester I, in the third position.
