COVID: J&K reports 131 fresh cases, no death

'Srinagar records 40 cases', active cases 1,191 in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported 131 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the number of active cases to 1,191 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,782.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 131 new cases,109  belong to Kashmir division while as 22 to Jammu division.

He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 303,998 including 300,635 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,646 including 171,036 recoveries and 2,350 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,191 including 931 from Kashmir division and 260 from Jammu division.

With 260 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 471,671 which is 98.75 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 131 cases today, 40 are from Srinagar, 13 from Baramulla, 16 from Budgam, 04 from Pulwama, 18 from Kupwara, 06 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 22 are from Jammu division that include 18 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kuthua , 01 from Samba, 02 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,698,747 persons in J&K are under observation while 161 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 1,191 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,692,226 persons have completed the surveillance period and 387 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,447,802 samples are available.

“Out of 26,447,802 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,970,158 while 477,644 have tested positive, among them 1,191 cases are active, 471,671 have recovered and 4,782 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
