This crucial and precarious situation is what both the countries need to understand and at the same time strive to end all the pending issues concerning the boundary dispute once and for all because that is what is expected of both the countries which are rising and impactful powers of the region and are heading ahead to lead the world. At the later stage of the changing world, these disputes could result in having far-reaching implications that neither of these countries would want. India has always stood for peace and that was visible after it preferred dialogue instead of confrontation despite bloody clashes that took place in the Galwan Valley.
India gave way for the dialogue which resulted in the start of Military Dialogue: it was the same dialogue that resulted in the disengagement process by the armies of both sides. Now that there has been a mutual decision concerning ensuring peace in eastern Ladakh, China needs to respect the demarcations and ensure there is no patrolling or any sort of troop presence in the buffer zones, because, it has always been these buffer zones where the matters turned violent. Keeping in view the topography of the region and no clear demarcation of the LAC, both sides need to be cautious and do everything to ensure peace and security, because India has never compromised on these two elements and has done everything to strengthen the same.
At the same time, while India has remained ahead of China in terms of ensuring tranquility along the LAC, it needs not to be treated as its weakness. As we head towards further disengagement, India will ensure sustained peace and security along the sensitive LAC and will see to it that not even a single inch of Indian land goes under the illegal occupation of the Chinese army: the entire nation counts on the Government, which has been assertive in such matters, that the Indian territory will be protected at any cost.
