Drug De-Addiction Sensitization Programme for PRI’s, Teachers held at Bandipora.

Bandipora, November 4: As part of the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), the District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) in Bandipora held a full-day Capacity Building Program.

Participants in the event included members of the District Development Council (DDC), Block Development Council (BDC), Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), teachers, health officials, ASHA workers, ICDS, and other frontline workers.

The programme was held at the Conference Hall of the District Drug De-Addiction Centre Bandipora.

The District Drug De-Addiction Center Bandipora, IA-JKSWM, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, Bandipora, created this noteworthy project.

The event was overseen by District Social Welfare Officer, Bandipora, Mir Hidaitullah, JKAS.

Manager DDAC Bandipora, Rehana Akhter, gave a heartfelt welcome to the audience before the event started. She deliberated the aims and objectives of the DDAC and the event. A panel of experts then spoke to the group, illuminating important facets of drug addiction and its effects on society.

DDAC, Coordinator, Showkat Ahmad shared his knowledge of the consequences of drug abuse.

The coordinator gave a general overview of the amenities and services that are provided to patients without any charge, focusing on both inpatient (IPD) and outpatient (OPD) care.

DDAC Outreach Worker, Jawhar Ahmad emphasized the critical role that PRIs, instructors, students, and employees play in battling the drug problem.

A Staff Nurse, Sameena Shafi, led the proceedings with grace. Presenting medical aspects of drug abuse, another Staff Nurse, Rukhsana Ali, provided insightful information to the audience. Counselor, Shabnum Shaban gave a speech about drug addiction and the de-addiction process.

An engrossing PowerPoint presentation about the facilities and services at DDAC, bringing a multimedia element to the event was also presented by DEO, M. Hussain.

Aside from the informative seminars, participants also received educational and informative materials, such as brochures and posters showcasing DDAC’s services.

Numerous participants actively participated in the event, including DDC, BDC, PRI, teachers, ICDS staff, health officials, and representatives from numerous other departments.

In addition to praising the occasion, attendees conveyed their gratitude for the District Drug De-Addiction Center’s crucial role in battling the drug problem in society.
