REASI, AUGUST 02: Government Degree College Katra conducted a cleanliness drive in the college campus as part of a series of activities under the Independence Day celebrations. The drive was organized by the NSS unit of GDC Katra in collaboration with the Road Safety Club.
The event was held under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rajni Bhagat. Prof. Mohd Younus Saleem and Dr. Manisha Kumari, NSS Programme Officer, coordinated the program.
A large number of volunteers enthusiastically participated, ensuring every nook and corner of the premises was cleaned. The students collected various types of garbage, including plastic bottles, wrappers, scattered asbestos, and polythene, and disposed of it properly by dumping it into a deep pit near the boundary wall of the campus.
The cleanliness drive also saw the participation of Dr. Harmeet Kour, Head of the Punjabi Department, and Prof. Shikha Bhasin, Head of the History Department, who actively contributed to the effort.
