DODA, JANUARY 20: As part of the ongoing Road Safety Month, an awareness session was today held for the volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Doda. The event aimed to sensitize volunteers about the importance of adhering to traffic rules and promoting road safety across the district. The session was held at Dessa Road, engaging youth volunteers to become ambassadors of road safety.

The campaign, conducted under the guidance of Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan and Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, was led by ARTO Rajesh Gupta.

DySP Traffic delivered a comprehensive lecture, emphasizing the importance of educating bike riders and car drivers on critical aspects of road safety, such as wearing helmets and seat belts.

The volunteers were trained in spreading awareness about the consequences of traffic violations, including over speeding, rash driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol. They were also encouraged to highlight the importance of safe driving practices to reduce road accidents and fatalities in the district.

The session also stressed the use of seat belts for all passengers in vehicles, not just drivers, as a life-saving measure. ARTO Rajesh Gupta appreciated the efforts of the Nehru Yuva Kendra volunteers and encouraged them to actively engage with the public, particularly on busy roads, to ensure maximum outreach.
Volunteers were urged to engage directly with bike riders and car drivers, advising them on the benefits of following traffic rules and the repercussions of negligence.

This initiative, aligned with the Road Safety Month theme, aims to foster a culture of responsible driving behavior and create mass awareness about road safety. The event concluded with a pledge by all attendees to follow traffic rules and contribute to making Doda’s roads safer for everyone.
