GDC Ramkote organizes maiden J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides Pravesh Training Camp

KATHUA, MAY 24: Government Degree College Ramkote successfully organized its maiden Pravesh training camp in collaboration with J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Jammu, here today.

The J&K Bharat Scouts and Guide conducted the Parvesh Function with great enthusiasm and pride, marking the formal induction of new college students into the scouting movement. The Pravesh function, a significant milestone in the journey of every scout and guide, symbolizes the official initiation of young students into the values, discipline, and spirit of the scouting movement including the history, promise, law and other subjects of the training.

The officers from JKBSG, Haroon Malik SHQs, K.L. Sharma HQs Commissioner/ I C Rovers and Rangers and Yash Pal District Organizing Commissioner, Samba were welcomed by the Principal of College Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, faculty Ranger Leader Dr. Vasundra Raje (HOD Sociology) and college students (Rangers).

The programme started with the keynote address by Harron Malik SHQs JKBSG who emphasized the historical importance of scouting and guiding in developing character, leadership, and service to society. He encouraged the new entrants to uphold the ideals of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and contribute positively to their communities. The programme introduced the students with the motto, salute, sign, and syllabus etc of pravesh training to the students.

During the function J&KBSG officials distributed certificates to all newly registered students, formally recognizing their entry into the organization. The key highlight of the event was the presentation of a charter to Government Degree College, Ramkote, officially approving the establishment of a One Ranger Unit within the college. The establishment of the one new Ranger Unit is a proud moment, as it opens doors for more young women to participate in nation building activities by way of attending training camps for their holistic development.

As many as 35 students from BA semester 2nd and 4th participated in the event. The students enrolled are Janvi Devi, Nitakshi Sharma, Priyanka Devi, Richu Devi, Neha Devi, Tania Sharma, Rita Rani, Kajal Devi, Sulactiona Devi, Nenshe, Nisha Devi, Kriti Devi, Reeta Devi, Sakshi Devi, Taniya Sharma, Priyanka Devi, Latasha Sharma, Priya Devi, Tanu Devi, Sulekha Devi, Minkashi Devi, Minkashi Devi, Minu Devi and Monika Devi

As a gesture of gratitude, the Principal presented mementos to the esteemed resource persons, honoring their valuable presence. The event was organised by Prof. Vasundra Raje and Prof Pankaj Nandan under the guidance of Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, Principal of the college. Refreshments were served to the students and guests. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Poonam Rani. The technical support was given by Sushil Singh and Ankush Kundral. The faculty who graced the occasion include Prof. Anu Sharma, Dr. Shakeeb Manzer, Dr Anu Salaria, Dr. Sudhir Kumar, Dr. Mohd Rauf and Poonam Rani.
