DODA, JUNE 12: A one-day awareness workshop on the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme was today held here at Panchayat Shiva, Block Ghat.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from farmers, Self Help Group (SHG) members, Cooperatives and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) from across District Doda.
Officers and officials from the Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry Departments also participated and shared detailed insights about their departmental schemes.
The event was addressed by the Area Marketing Officer (AMO) Doda, GMI from the department, and District Resource Person (DRP-PMFME). They briefed the gathering—comprising women, unemployed youth, and farmers—about the scope and benefits of the PMFME scheme. The speakers encouraged attendees to come forward and avail the scheme’s advantages, which aim at fostering self-employment and promote food processing enterprises.
The District Nodal Officer PMFME Anayatullah Khanji emphasized that the PMFME scheme is proving to be a game changer, especially for women and unemployed youth. He highlighted how the scheme has enabled many individuals to become self-reliant and even create job opportunities for others. Notably, 34 units have already been established in Doda under the scheme, providing employment to over 200 people.
Marketing Inspector Jagdish Raj also explained the scheme in detail, outlining key features such as a 35% subsidy, easy bank financing, assistance in documentation and DPR preparation, as well as support in branding and marketing. Mohd. Yaqoob, DRP, educated the participants about the documentation process, including obtaining necessary certifications like the FSSAI license and Udhyam Certificate.
Anayatullah Khanji urged the public to avail full advantage of this initiative and become active contributors to the Atmanirbhar Bharat movement launched by the Prime Minister of India.
