JAMMU, DECEMBER 26: Additional District Magistrate Ansuya Jamwal today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the upcoming Gurupurab celebrations with particular emphasis on ensuring smooth conduct and public convenience.

Pertinently, two Nagar Kirtans are planned ahead of Gurupurab—one on January 1 at RS Pura and another on January 3 from Bibi Chand Kaur Gurudwara Jammu. The ADM called for meticulous preparations for these processions, ensuring public safety and participation.

The ADM instructed the Traffic Police and organisers to ensure a well-coordinated traffic management plan, emphasising the need for smooth vehicular movement and hassle-free passage for participants and commuters alike. Stressing the importance of public awareness, she directed the concerned departments to publish and widely publicise traffic advisories in advance.

In a bid to enhance security, directions were issued to ensure the installation of CCTV cameras at key spots. The Fire and Emergency Services Department was instructed to deploy both mobile and stationary teams at strategic locations.

Ansuya Jamwal also reviewed sanitation and cleanliness measures, assigning the Jammu Municipal Corporation the task of maintaining hygiene in and around Gurudwaras and procession routes.

Jal Shakti and Public Works departments were directed to ensure proper barricading and make necessary arrangements for uninterrupted water and power supply. Medical teams will be stationed at critical points, and magistrates will be deputed to oversee ground level coordination.

Besides the district officers, the meeting was also attended by religious leaders.
