ARTO Doda conducts enforcement drive

DODA, JUNE 17: In line with the directions of the worthy Transport Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan and under the close supervision of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, the team from the ARTO Office Doda carried out a focused traffic enforcement drive in the district.

The drive was led by ARTO Doda, Maneet Sharma conducted at strategic points including Doda–Ghat Road and Doda–Dessa Road.

As part of the crackdown on traffic violations, approximately 170 vehicles were thoroughly checked during the operation. The enforcement team identified multiple violations of Motor Vehicles Act provisions, ranging from driving without valid documents to improper vehicle conditions and overloading.

A total of 27 vehicles were e-challaned during the drive, resulting in fines amounting to ₹42,500. The action aimed to ensure road safety, discipline among drivers and strict adherence to the law. The ARTO Doda team has reiterated its commitment to maintaining traffic order and warned that such drives will continue across the district in the coming days.

Citizens and vehicle owners have been urged to comply with traffic regulations, carry valid documents and maintain roadworthy vehicles to avoid penalties and ensure the safety of all road users.
