BHADERWAH, SEPTEMBER 10: As part of the preparation for the upcoming J&K Assembly Elections 2024, the polling staff designated for Postal Ballot Voting was today imparted training here today. The training, conducted by the Assembly Level Master Trainers (ALMTs), started on September 6 and is now in its second phase, aimed at preparing polling staff for the elections.

The Returning Officer for AC-51 Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar, supervised the ongoing Assembly Election Training Program .

In his address to the polling staff and accompanying civilian personnel, Sunil Kumar informed them that they will cast their votes via postal ballots from September 13 to 15. Two facilitation centres have been set up for this purpose at the Community Hall Bhaderwah and the office of the Returning Officer (ADC Bhaderwah). This provision falls under Section 60 of the Representation of the People’s Act, 1951, which allows voters on election duties, including Absent Voters of Essential Services (AVES), to vote via postal ballots.

The Returning Officer has issued notices to all eligible polling parties and AVES, including police personnel and non-government workers such as drivers, videographers, conductors, and vehicle cleaners, informing them of their postal voting options. These voters must submit Form 12 by or before September 11 at 3:00 PM to enroll for postal ballot voting.

Key officials such as ARO Kamalpreet Singh, Assembly Nodal Officer Dr. Nazir Ahmed, Coordinator Arif Rana, and ALMTs were present at the training centre to oversee the process and ensure the smooth functioning of election-related preparations.
